My Diem, a young Vietnamese woman, moves to a small French village where she has inherited a house from her aunt who was murdered ten years earlier. Rejected by the villagers and confronted with a culture different from hers, My Diem finds comfort and love with Manu, a young farmer. Near My Diem's house, we find Ernest, a paranoid former mercenary, a disturbing and lonely character. Manu makes friends with him, gradually becoming aware of the man's murderous madness.
