Julie is a thirty years old farmer who has no other choice but to hire Djibril, a migrant from Mali, to help her at the farm. As Julie's mother, Huguette, becomes embedded in the house, she asks Djibril to pretend they are engaged.
Despite his willingness, Djibril is overwhelmed by the work on the farm and also troubled to be obliged to « lie » in front of Huguette, which upsets Julie even more .
As tensions are rising, Huguette gets worried as she is more and more confident that Julie and Djibril are made for each other...
